According to Time Russia is fighting to be recognized on international scale and then they mention that Syria is right next to them... I don't believe in the "fellow citizens" talk from Russia, so what else is there they are so worried about losing? A friend who has an access to Mediterranean sea? Anything else I'm missing?
ReplyDeleteI think it is the fight for recognition, but also trying to show up the US is one of the bigger issues. I also think there are regional issues playing out that the U.S. media doesn't emphasize, like the impact of the current conflict on the broader Middle East.
